Theophany students aid with tsunami relief efforts
NEEDHAM, MA - St. Valentine would be proud of the efforts of the Theophany School students. For Valentine's Day this year, the students made health kits in addition to valentines. In their classroom discussions about St. Valentine, the children learned about the life of the saint and that his life was all about giving. "He did not just give to the poor, but he also gave to people through his prayers. We too, through our prayers and good works, can give to those less fortunate." It was with this mission in mind that Theophany School students assembled 25 health kits to contribute to the tsunami relief effort sponsored by the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). Along with their small offerings, the children wrote the following prayer to accompany the kits: "Dear God: Please take care of these people. Give them Your help and show them Your love."
