Meet our Staff
The School and its educators are fully licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Early Education and Care (EEC) and the requisite local licensing Boards.
Melanie is the Head of School at Theophany School. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Education Licensure from Franciscan University and a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in history from Boston College. Melanie has 14 years of teaching experience in public and private schools. She also has experience as a mentor/master teacher to junior faculty and as a practicum supervisor, evaluating teacher candidates for The Lynch School of Education at Boston College. In her free time, Melanie likes to try her hand at baking, especially recipes from the Balkans and amateur meteorology. She enjoys time with her family and writing. Contact Ms. Melanie »
Marybeth is Director of Education and a Preschool Teacher at Theophany School. She recently moved from Cape Cod to Walpole with her husband and son. Marybeth earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Fitchburg State University and her Master’s of Education in Learning Disabilities from Rivier University. She has experience teaching children in private and public schools in both early childhood and special education fields. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, reading, writing children's stories, visiting the Cape, and spending time with her family. Contact Ms. Marybeth »
Vicky is the Kindergarten teacher at Theophany School. She grew up in Medfield, Massachusetts. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Spanish, which she received from Bridgewater State University. She is licensed to teach grades K-6 and is also certified in Early Education. She is also our “It’s All Greek to Me” after-school teacher. In her spare time, Vicky likes to travel and go on adventures. She loves exploring different cultures and has a passion for music (she is currently trying to teach herself violin!). Contact Ms. Vicky »
Sonia is a Pre-K teacher at Theophany School. She attended Bridgewater State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, and she is also a certified Early Education Teacher. She is our STEAM teacher, our technology support, and resident photographer. She also teaches Greek School and Church School on weekends and is active in planning her parish’s Greek festival- Opa! In her spare time, she loves to enjoy the city of Boston, to go on hikes and, when New England weather hits, to relax with a good book. Contact Ms. Sonia »
Despina is our assistant teacher at Theophany School and is also our music teacher. She is a senior at Hellenic College in Brookline and is studying Human Growth and Development. She is currently in our Saint Catherine’s Mentorship Program, and will become a certified Early Education Teacher this summer. In her spare time she likes to sing, chant, read, teach piano, and play ping pong.
Sarah is our part-time administrative assistant and our art teacher. She is a graduate of Hellenic College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Literature and History. She is presently a MTS candidate at Boston College. In her spare time she likes to dance, sketch, read a good book and play with her dog, Tumnus.
