Meet our Teaching Staff

Mrs. Melissa Sayeg

Melissa is the teacher of the PreK/Kindergarten classroom at Theophany School. She is a life-long Orthodox Christian. She and her husband Raymond and four daughters attend St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Cambridge. Melissa has a Certificate in Early Childhood Development and a B.A. in Arts Administration from Simmons College. Melissa has been involved with Theophany School since 1999. Prior to Theophany School she worked developing curriculum for the Cambridge Arts Council, and ran her own Family Child Care for three years. In her spare time Melissa is a Sunday School teacher at St. Mary's and she also enjoys sewing, quilting and cooking. She can be contacted via email here!
Mrs. Emily Pappas

Emily is the director and one of the preschool teachers at Theophany School. She earned her B.A. in psychology from Bates College, and her Master's of Special Education from Lesley University. Emily has been a lifelong parishioner at St. George Orthodox Church in Norwood, where she sings in the choir. Additionally, she is the Chair of the Boston Metropolitan Committee of IOCC, and a contributing writer for Pravmir.com. In her spare time, Emily enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and iconography. Mrs. Elizabeth Mallios

Elizabeth is one of the preschool teachers at Theophany School. She earned her B.A. in early childhood education from Salem State College where she also minored in psychology and music. Elizabeth and her family are members of St. Nectarios Orthodox Church in Roslindale. Elizabeth has returned to Theophany School following a two year leave to raise her youngest daughter. Additionally, Elizabeth coaches a competitive color guard team in Wellesley. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys scrapbooking and gardening. She can be contacted via email here!
Mrs. Nicole Tsapelas Klund
Nicole has taken on the role of Director of Admissions and Development this year. She has many exciting ideas for nurturing the Theophany School family and for turning our "hidden jewel" into a shining beacon. She earned her B.A. in English and secondary education from SUNY Geneseo and her Master's of Science of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) K-12 from NY. She is with her husband at Holy Cross Seminary for his final year. In her spare time, Nicole loves to cook, read, be outside and craft.
