Mrs. Sonia Daly Belcher (+Memory Eternal 2/20/08)
Mrs. Belcher is a co-founder of Theophany School. She is a graduate of Bentley College and is currently the Director of Admissions at Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. She previously worked as the national recruiter and Boston sales executive for ChildrenFirst Inc, the national provider of backup child care services. She is married to Deacon Nicholas Belcher and the mother of Andrew Nicholas. She is a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in West Roxbury, MA. Mrs. Belcher is also a member of the Order of St. Ignatius.
Mr. Socrates Deligeorges
Dr. Deligeorges is a graduate of Tufts and Boston University with degrees in electrical and medical engineering/neuroscience and was a post doctoral fellow at BU in the Hearing Research Center. He was involved with the Greek Orthodox Boston Diocese Camp for many years as well as the University Orthodox Christian fellowship programs and is an active member of St Mary's Orthodox Church, Cambridge. Dr. Deligeorges is the founder/CEO of BioMimetic Systems, an advanced research company currently involved in projects for the ONR(Office of Naval Research), ARL(Army Research Lab), and DoD(Department of Defense).
Mr. Daniel Gioffre
Mr. Gioffre holds a B.A. in philosophy (the College of New Jersey), an M.T.S. in Biblical Studies, and an M.A.T. in Latin and Classical Humanities (both from Boston University). He currently teaches Latin, Greek, and World History at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH. He and his wife Bette and daughter Denise split their time between St. Philip's in Nashua and St. Mary's in Cambridge.
Ms. Sophia Giontzis
Ms. Giontzis holds a B.S. in Economics from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. She is currently working at Putnam Investment as Vice President within the Market Data Services division. She is an active member of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church in Roslindale, MA., where she has previously taught 4th grade level Sunday School for seven years. She has also worked with both the GOYA and JOY children in the parish, as well as volunteered as a camp counselor at the Greek Orthodox Boston Diocese Camp.
Ms. Krysla Gregoriades
Ms. Gregoriades received a JD from the Boston University School of Law and is a licensed attorney in Massachusetts. She also holds licenses in the insurance industry and has marketing experience with MetLife. She is an active member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Boston and is an active member of the Cathedral Greek School. Two of Krysla's sons, Christos and Loukas, both attended Theophany School -- and it is fully expected that the newest member of the family, Evan, will follow in his brothers' footsteps!
Mrs. Erin Kimmett
Mrs. Kimmett is a graduate of Wichita State University with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. Following graduation, Mrs. Kimmett served as the Director of Publications at Wichita State for nine years. A trained Byzantine iconographer, she has written icons for many Orthodox churches, and owns and manages the Annunciation Press of Norwood, MA. She has also produced religious education curriculum materials for SCOBA's Orthodox Christian Education Commission. She is the mother of Nicholas and Zachary who both attended Theophany School.
V. Rev. Joseph Kimmett
Fr. Joseph Kimmett is the pastor of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Norwood, MA, where he has served since 1995. In the Diocese of Worcester and New England, Father Joseph is the spiritual advisor for Teen SOYO and Missions Coordinator. In addition to helping Theophany School, he works in the area with volunteers for the International Orthodox Christian Charities. In Norwood he is a member of the Caritas Hospital Institutional Review Board, and coaches youth soccer for his son's teams.
Ms. Frances Levas
Ms. Levas holds a BA in Business Management from Simmons College. She is an active member of the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, Watertown, MA, where she serves on the Parish Council and other ministries. She is an active member within the Metropolis of Boston serving on the Philoptochos and its many ministries. She is the mother of Kostas, who is presently attending Suffolk University.
Mrs. Michele Markatos
Mrs. Markatos has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Bemidji State University Minnesota, and is a former fourth grade teacher. She worked for ten years as Production Manager for the Harvard Medical School Health Publications Group. Michele and her husband are co-founders of St. Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, Mansfield, Massachusetts. She has been the Director of the Church School and has taught at every level. Presently an active volunteer at her son's school she teaches a "meet the artist" class to fifth and third graders, and is actively involved in the Destination Imagination Program. Her son Timothy was in the first preschool class at Theophany School.
Mr. Taso Markatos
Mr. Markatos is Assistant Dean for Information Technology at Harvard University School of Public Health. He is a graduate of Hellenic College, and has a master's degree in education from Boston University. He previously worked as Assistant Director of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Youth Department and the Ionian Village summer camping Program. Taso is a founding member of the new St. Gregory the Theologian Church in Mansfield, Massachusetts, where he has served as chairman of the Building Program, and also was President of the Parish Council for several years.
Ms. Amalia Sgourakes
Ms. Sgourakes is a graduate of Smith College and holds the position of Assistant Director of Administration to the Dean at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In addition to being a committed Board member of Theophany School for the past three years, Ms. Sgourakes also volunteers at the Greek Orthodox Boston Diocese Winter Camp, as well as for Project Mexico, where she has traveled to Tijuana several times to construct houses for homeless Mexican families. She is a member of St. Demetrios Church in Weston, MA, where she taught Sunday School for five years and currently serves on a Mission Team for the parish's younger aged children.
Rev. Nicholas C. Triantafilou
Rev. Triantafilou is the President of Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Fr. Triantafilou has over thirty years of experience in church administration, pastoring and leadership. In addition to his extensive parish experience, Fr. Triantafilou has also held various high-level leadership roles in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. He also served as Director of the Leadership 100 Archdiocesan Endowment Fund, which grew from $15 million to $27 million in four years under his leadership, and for which he oversaw investment of funds and the distribution of grants.
Fr. Nick also brings with him direct experience in starting an Orthodox School. He was a co-founder and director of the Annunciation Orthodox School in Houston, TX, which began with 14 students and increased to 300 during his seventeen-year tenure. The School, for which Fr. Triantafilou developed and administered its supporting annual budget, currently has 630 students.
